2012 Organized Play: Human Fighter Lord Modified
This year the competitive play has been fierce, with a number of different warbands maintaining their capacity to inflict heavy losses on the enemy. One figure, however, emerged as somewhat broken when analyzed by 2012 North American Champ Brad Shugg; The Human Fighter Lord.
Winning a Championship carries clout, but when you win, and then tell the Guild that the key piece you won with is much too powerful, the Guild certainly pays attention. Brad had 3 Fighter Lord's in his warband, all using Lodestones.
The Fighter Lord has been discussed in several forums, with many players citing that he makes the game less fun. He's been a source of some concern, but since he didn't have the same issues as prior creature in slowing down game play (such as the Solamith), he's been tolerated for some time. However, he will now be retired and re-released, as per the Guild Policy on figures that are overpowered. We are happy to have only the Human Fighter Lord to address this year.

Well, that does it, maximum nerf. HFL is now totally unplayable.

So that means you wouldn't mind anymore if I field three of them now?

I know what you mean...
Still, at least it is somewhat vulnerable to ref/will now. Which makes a triple HFL band vulnerable to some warbands at least.

Warrior Spirit is not rechargeable and the def a little lowered.
I wouldn't say that HLF is unplayable, it's still a good piece for 61 pts.

Should have just made him unique

Could have just made him unique. It was definitely on the table.
Brad had some pretty specific suggestions, and I think this comes pretty close.

Bow modification seems ok, maybe still a bit too flawless in defense ... there are markedly more costly pieces with one (or more) defences at more compromising levels than HFLs ref & will.
Level 10? ... hilarious

this definetely gets some payback for the slight tonedowns made elsewhere: benefits more from a number of small perks now.
"Keen Edge" sounds like something to do with sword cuts...
Is it supposed to work on bow also, or only on melee?

The nerf does hit him hard in a lot of places. It's still a solid figure and I can agree with Dwayne's changes. It's no longer a figure to build your entire band around but still a rock solid offense fig for its cost that can lay down some ranged support when needed.
The original stats there was no offense focused fig that could hold up to it. Your only chance to beat it was with techy figs: stuns, slows, weakened, etc.
I played against solid opponents through out the whole event and never lost a single HFL!
