Here There Be Dragons...
At long last, we are happy to release the stat-cards for the latest D&D Miniatures release: the Dragon Collector's Set. As you know each dragon is unique. After all, a village is almost never menaced by 'a' dragon - you always hear stories about 'the' dragon. It seems like, at least in the stories, these dragons are never alike, and so we aimed at doing this with the current set.
The dragons are a little sociopathic, and rarely play well with other dragons. You might find them with other minions, however. Coldsnap, for example, eventually tames a pack of wolves to use against the folk at Frostkeel (that is depicted in the an extended version of the story, but not the edited version online). As you can see, Coldsnap, Ruin of Frostkeel, is a Cold-element tuned force to be reckoned with.

The large black dragon is Onyx, and she introduces herself as Glistening Death. She is a constant lurking presence. Hiding and sneaking around are her modus operandi, until she finds a way to ambush your opponents warband. She lives in a damp, sunken lava field with little vegetation, using the lava tubes she knows so well to get around...

Hemlock is the name of the featured green dragon, a mastermind who carries the nickname Master of Secrets. Hemlock carries a lot of tech, but also has the stats of a mini-titan. Are Hemlock's 77 points capable of being used effectively in a 200 point game, or only for epic play levels?

Azurion, Dune Scourge, and Blaze, Sulfurborn Wyrm, are both designed as 'build around' titans for 200 point play. Each needs to be used in its own specific fashion. The blue is a master of Arcane knowledge, with a lot of player thought into using which powers at what point, while Blaze, the red dragon is a rampaging machine of melee destruction with many automatically engaged powers...

You can let us know, down below or in the forums, whether you like what we've done with Dragon Collector's Set.

The suspense is killing me. Really.
Is Blaze really overpowered and a meta-killer?
Will Azurion replace the Thrall? He's much more expensive.
How much will players pay for Green Dragon Tech?
Is Hemlock too expensive?
If Azurion and Blaze are male, and Coldsnap is female, what are the other two?

No inside jokes, just hints as to what is coming.
I sent the final to David and just waiting now.
He took the one I posted down, so I am just waiting for him to put the article back up.
The red (code name blaze) and blue (named azurion) were meant to be a stand alone titan in 200. Only time will tell if they actually pull this off.
The green is a techy minititan. The black is a lurker, and the white is just an element-tuned force of cold.

Good guys...
... But I have a problem with the Sociopathic Power.
That cancel many themed Warbands; I understand it's for avoiding overpowered Warbands in 200 pts, but I think they're playable without this power in 500 pts ...
Perharps a little Errata ???

Thanks for the stats, guys! Really looking forward to playing with these beasts. Really like the options on the smaller ones (white, black, green), but will give the other two a shot as well.

Wow, what a brutally aggressive set! And I mean that in a complementing way. All five give me chills (or replace with appropriate energy-related reaction type) and I believe each of these can be a foundation for a top-level competitive team. Great, inventive new powers and stand-alone titans with true potential. That said, before playtesting I understand Tried's worry about the power level of certain figures.
THANK YOU for these!!! Dragons are the talk now, and by the name, too...

Hey!!!!!!!!!!
These Dragons look awsome. Nice new stats, creative, and some new abilities. Great job DDM Guild!
Blaze does not look overpowered nor a meat killer. Heck, he costs 111 points. TREASURE COLLECTOR. I do like the idea of giving items to your own creatures and then killing them for the +10 VP. Might be a problem.
Azurion will not replace the Thrall. Cot of 88 pts and only doing 25 damage kinda nerfs this dragon. And he does not gain HP like the Thrall.
Hemlock looks nasty, and IMO probably not too expensive. Have to play test and try some warbands with them. The Mischief ability looks pretty potent, +5 dam for all Champions in your warband. Nice.
Coldsnap looks very fun to play. Nicely costed at 55 pts and it leavs room to build a warband around it.
And finally, Onyx, looks like a nice piece to build a warband around. It sure would have been nice to add other dragons that use acid to a warband with Onyx in it.
Some initial warband ideas to try and abuse these dragons powers seem to always include other dragons. So maybe the SOCIOPATHIC power is waranted. Maybe not, as it seems to limit building some really solid warbands.
Ultimately IMO the 3 really high costed dragons, Hemlock, Azurion, and Blaze will likely suffer as other titans suffer - not enough damage output for the cost. But I guess we will have to wait and see with some warband building and play testing.
Maybe a few of these will show up in the Vassal Championship?
Cheers.

I like them! They are all good, but Hemlock is my favorite. He has a wide variety of powers. I love his immunity to poison. His whispered intent power is very clever too.
I'm not sure I'll get the actual collector's set though. I have a green, red, white, blue and a black dragon that look very similar to the ones in the set already. I'll probably just use these cool cards with those guys.

It turns out, Hemlock is female.
Hope that doesn't ruin your fun.
(the white, black and green are female, the red is male, and I am pretty sure the blue is male, but not positive...)

>>> I do like the idea of giving items to your own creatures and then killing them for the +10 VP. <<<
Well, I don't
I chanced on 8 x Kobold Miner + some gadget for each, Lyrandar Cptn & Blaze on Vassal.
It so happened I had Large Gold Dragon, Animated Statue x5, Githzerai x2 myself
I don't think I'd like facing this on Evermelt and starting my game in 80 point losing situation.

Reply to zimut X (post 14).
But Sociopathic nicely takes care of the problem of warbands containing identical sculpts with different stats.
