Guys, this might sound a bit stupid but... How do you print the maps that were made available for downloading? There are several and seem quite interesting but I find it hard to print on a home printer: A4 paper sheets are too small and too thin! This becomes a problem since I'd have to glue them to a hard surface after printing (cardboard maybe) and plastify them (I hope I chose the right term). Its a bit of a hassle to print all those maps this way. Besides, I dislike cardboard. And printing on paper just makes it all lackluster...
Are there any good ideas about this? So that the end result looks a bit more like the original maps? Any good printing materials that last long?

If your printer is capable of printing cardstock, maybe try that. It's a little more sturdy than paper and you don't have to bother gluing paper to harder surfaces. Also, after printing them out, you can assemble them and possibly look into having them laminated into one whole map instead of pieces. Or laminate the pieces. It adds a little more stability as well.
That's the problem. I don't have such a printer. I might need to go to a shop to get this done though. Searching for the best way to do it though before heading there. I saw somewhere things being printed in vinyl... Sounds a bit odd to me but I'm curious to know if anyone in the forums tried this and how good the end result was.
Cardstock, you say?
Cardstock can be found just about any where printer paper is sold. Even at Wal-Mart. I don't think printers that are capable of printing on cardstock are too expensive or uncommon. Double check your manual to make sure what you have will not work. If manual doesn't say, then check online with the manufacturer or google search it. Some one else probably has the same printer as you and may have tried it already.
I haven't had the chance to check it yesterday. Will do so during the weekend.
Thanks for the tip.
