Match report: Miniatorix vs Justjooavian, Miniatorix wins.
Miniatorix:
Orc Wolf Shaman x1, Orc Banebreak Rider x1, Orc Mauler x1, Celestial Dire Badger x1, Orc Archer x2, 150 Points, 6 Creatures, 6 Acts, Champ 2, Map: Dungeon of Blood
Justjooavian:
Orog Warlord x1, Fiendish Monstrous Scorpion x1, Swarm of Spiders x3, Hellwasp x1, 150 Points, 6 Creatures, 6 Acts, Champ 2, Map: Hellspike Prison
We played on Hellspike Prison but Just's wandering monster roll results left two of the Spider Swarms exposed. And with a combined effort my orcs managed to take out one of the spiders in the first round.
In the second round the Scorpion bloodied the Badger, and the Badger returned the favor with a critical hit. And the next round the Scorpion killed the badger but when he moved away the Badger got fatal oa. Meanwhile the rest of my warband took out the Spider's and Wasp, losing the occasional Orc Archer. After a couple of rounds only the Orog was left, thanks due the high AC. The Orog put up a good fight, but a couple of hits in combination with the bonus damage from the shaman proved too much.
In the end the biggest factor facilitating my victory was that I got high rolls when I needed them and low rolls when I could afford them. No problem if the Orc Archers rolled 1's, as long as the Banebreak gets a 20 when he charges.
Thanks for the game Just.
And a report Matob Matobsen vs Koen, Koen wins
Matob:
Orc wolf shaman, Clawfoot Rider, hunter cougar, orc archer *5, kruthik young, 149 points, 9 activations, champ 2, map: dwarven fortress
Koen:
Orc wolf shaman, Orc Warchief, Orc Strongbow, orc archer *2, mountain orc, orc raider, orc warrior, orc spearfighter, 150 points, 10 activations, champ 2, map: keep of fallen kings
And here i thought my warband was going to 'outrange' my opponents warband... Anyway, i won map and we played on keep of fallen kings.
Matob played very aggresively, immediately attacking my mongrelfolk with his cougar who had ended up in victory area B, at his side of the map. Soon after his clawfoot rider charged all the way over the map to miss my shaman. That was pretty much a theme in the first two turns, Matob rolled very poorly at the start of the game. I think he did not manage to roll higher than a three with his first seven attacks... but he told me there was a five in there somewhere;)
Anyway, it was a nice chaotic match with mostly arrows and lightnings flying around. In fact, none of us managed to use any of our champion powers before the Shamans got killed. But Matob managed to make up for some of his poor rolls at the start by using his call lightning twice. And at the same time i kept missing the clawfoot rider with my orcs. In the end my shaman managed to finish him off and promptly one of Matobs archers took revenge and killed him with a critical.
In the end he managed to kill all but three of my units before i won on vp. Just for fun we played on until the last man (or orc, actually), but my three survivors (warchief, strongbow and mountain orc) were a bit too much for his three archers, although they took the warchief with them.
All in all it was a really fun game, and Matob kept cheerful even when the dicebot seemed to hate him for the first few turns:)
A few words from me:
) and decided to play with beasts -I am more familiar with them than with Orcs and because of poor orcs attack.
I was thhinking about warband with Orlog before, but then I saw Wolf Shaman, fell in love with it (has somebody this mini for trade?
Right, I was agressive, but it was my mistake.. Hm.. My dicerolls were poor, but the thing that (maybe) lost this game was I forgot use Champ power 15 more damage with hit with Rider and that s why Koen s Shaman survived 3 more rounds than necesary (and than got critical hit with arrow in his back while he ran away
) Have to say, than Koen told that I can use this CHP, but I must learn from my mistakes..
But main thing - it was pretty funny match and I was glad that Koen din t take this match serious.. I had fun. Koen is a winner, he blasted my units all around the map. CONGRATZ!
